220 kV Transmission Line for the Solar Power Plant in the Jizzakh Region, Uzbekistan
General Project Information:
The project involves the construction of a 220 MWac solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in the Jizzakh Region of Uzbekistan and forms part of the country’s development of renewable energy generation capacity.
The project includes the solar power plant and the electrical infrastructure required for power evacuation to the grid. The power plant is connected to the Unified Power System of Uzbekistan via a 14.7 km, 220 kV double-circuit overhead transmission line connected to the Saribazar Substation.
The implementation of the project contributes to increasing electricity generation from renewable energy sources, developing energy infrastructure, and reducing the carbon intensity of Uzbekistan’s power sector.

Scope of Work:
As part of the project, the company carried out the comprehensive supply of key materials and equipment, as well as civil works, installation, testing and commissioning for the construction of a 14.7 km, 220 kV double-circuit overhead transmission line.
Supply of Materials and Equipment:
- Steel lattice towers and structural steel components for the 220 kV overhead transmission line.
- Insulators and insulator strings.
- Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACSR).
- Optical Ground Wire (OPGW).
- Line hardware, fittings, fasteners and accessories.
Earthworks:
- Preparation and clearing of the transmission line route and excavation for tower foundations.
- Grading of work areas and construction of temporary access roads.
- Backfilling and soil compaction following foundation installation.
- Reinstatement of the site upon completion of construction works.
Concrete and Civil Works:
- Survey setting-out and preparation of bases for the installation of precast tower foundations.
- Installation of precast reinforced concrete foundations in their design positions and verification of installation accuracy.
- Verification of elevations, axes, embedded parts, and anchor elements.
- Sealing of installation joints and filling of construction gaps.
- Waterproofing and corrosion protection of structures, where required.
Steel Structures and Line Equipment Installation:
- Assembly and erection of steel towers for the 220 kV double-circuit overhead transmission line.
- Installation of cross-arms, fastening elements, and line fittings.
- Installation of insulators and grounding components.
- Installation of conductors and overhead ground wires.
Electrical Installation Works:
- Installation of tower grounding systems.
- Execution of electrical connections for line equipment.
Testing and Commissioning:
- Inspection of installation quality and electrical connections.
- Verification of grounding systems.
- Performance of required testing and commissioning activities.
- Preparation of the transmission line for energization and operation.
