Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) - The Presidential Decree "On measures to implement the Green Energy Certificate system" (PP-156 of May 12, 2023) has been adopted.
According to the Decree, the Green Energy Certificate system is being phased in to confirm the generation of electricity using renewable energy sources:
- From July 1, 2023 - for electricity generated by the hydropower plants of the Uzbekhydroenergo system;
- From October 1, 2023 - for electricity generated by solar, wind, and hydropower plants.
One "Green Energy" certificate confirms the generation of 1,000 kWh of electricity.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance is responsible for the management of the "Green Energy" certificate system.
Income from the sale of "Green Energy" certificates, based on the use of renewable energy sources, is exempt from corporate income tax for power generation facilities.
