«Ahal Center» 1, 2 and 3 — Electrification of 110/10 kV, 2×40 MVA Substations, Gokdepe District, Ahal Province, Turkmenistan

General Project Information:

As part of the development of the energy infrastructure of the new city of Arkadag, three 110/10 kV substations — «Ahal Center» 1, 2 and 3 — were implemented.

Each substation is equipped with two 40 MVA power transformers, providing a total installed transformer capacity of 80 MVA per substation. The substations provide 110/10 kV voltage transformation and power distribution for the city's engineering, utility and social infrastructure.

Location:

Gokdepe District, Ahal Province, Turkmenistan

Scope of Work:

The projects included the electrification of the 110/10 kV substations, including installation of electrical equipment, primary and secondary connections, protection and control systems, as well as testing and commissioning.

110 and 10 kV Equipment:

  • Installation and connection of 110/10 kV power transformers;
  • Installation and connection of circuit breakers, disconnectors, current and voltage transformers, busbars and other switchgear equipment;
  • Completion of primary electrical connections on the 110 and 10 kV sides;
  • Connection of incoming, bus-section and outgoing feeders.

Electrical Installation Works:

  • Laying, termination and connection of power and control cables;
  • Installation of secondary circuits for relay protection, automation, control, signaling, metering and electricity accounting systems;
  • Connection of auxiliary-service and operational power-supply equipment;
  • Connection of equipment and steel structures to the protective earthing system.

Testing and Commissioning:

  • Electrical testing of power transformers, switchgear, switching equipment, instrument transformers, busbars and cable lines;
  • Verification of insulation, phase sequence, electrical connections and the protective earthing system;
  • Configuration and functional testing of relay protection, automation, interlocking, signaling and control circuits;
  • Staged energisation and comprehensive testing of the equipment;
  • Preparation of test reports and as-built documentation and commissioning of the equipment.
